Tractor fine cancelled

A tractor buff was stunned to get a parking fine for the classic machine he is restoring - even though the vintage model has never left his garden.

Derek Coldrick, 61, contested the £60 penalty which said his 1957 Ferguson diesel was illegally parked in Hereford, 53 miles away from his home in Cirencester.

The council discovered the ticket was issued to a car with a registration matching that of the tractor and told him his plates had been cloned. Parking officials cancelled the fine and warned Mr Coldrick he may get more penalty notices thanks to the fraudster.
