A tiny young sea turtle is recovering in an aquarium after being stranded on a UK surfing beach thousands of miles from its birthplace.
The 20 centimetre loggerhead turtle was discovered at Putsborough Beach, north Devon, and taken to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay, north Cornwall.
The creature joined another looggerhead found stranded a week ago at Bude, north Cornwall.
Blue Reef curator Matt Slater said today: "It is rare for two turtles to stranded within such a short space of time.It is even more unusual for both of them to survive their ordeal."
