We remember our first car more easily than our first kiss, it has been revealed.

Getting a first set of wheels ranked more highly for young people than their initial embrace, their first boyfriend or girlfriend and their 18th birthday, a survey by organisers of the British International Motor Show found.

Based on responses from 2,011 adults, the poll also showed that 59% saw passing the driving test as a life-changing event.
