Weddings reunited

Two couples celebrating their golden wedding anniversary have met for the first time 50 years after getting married on the same day in the same church.

Rosemary and David Coombe and Gilbert and Barbara Crotty had back-to-back ceremonies just 90 minutes apart on March 29 1958.

Both couples, who each have a son called Robert, are from Plymouth, Devon, but have never met since they tied the knot in the city at St Budeaux parish church.
