A search has begun to find foster homes for a herd of goats used in decompression sickness experiments to investigate the effect of pressure on Navy crews.
The goats were used in trials carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Defence to help Naval personnel avoid decompression sickness if they had to exit a stricken submarine.
The animals conducted hyperbaric research at various pressure levels and the data gained helped submariners assess the risks of staying in their vessel or making a bid to reach the surface.
