A cricket club is hoping the sound of leather on willow will be able to continue after a noise survey concluded the game was not loud enough to upset the neighbours.
Bosses at Rushden Town Cricket Club hope this positive feedback will ensure planning bosses allow them to put up practice cricket nets which they have been in negotiations with East Northamptonshire Council over.
The 135-year-old club said it was forced to commission the £2,000 survey to prove the noise would not annoy local residents, even though no one in the closest 50 houses had objected.
