Beer miss

A German truck delivering beer for thirsty fans at football’s European Championship 2008 in neighbouring Austria overturned, spilling 350 cases across the autobahn.

Thousands of bottles were strewn across the road and shattered on impact creating a mess that took about 40 firefighters with a bulldozer three hours to clean up.

Police said that the 51-year-old driver, who had taken a bend too fast, was unharmed.
