A Macedonian journalist who wrote about the murders of two elderly women has himself been charged with the killings.
Police began to suspect Vlado Taneski, 56, after reading his articles about the crimes in the Macedonian newspaper Utrinski Vesnik and noticing details that had not been released to the public.
Detectives went on to find his DNA on the victims’ bodies and he was arrested at his home in the town of Kicevo on Friday.
