Swiss railway workers have been told to stop wearing their high-visibility orange safety vests after confused Dutch football fans started following them on to the tracks.

A spokesman said the order followed an incident in Berne when a group of Netherlands supporters followed a worker on to the lines after mistaking his uniform for their traditional orange dress.

Workers have been given new yellow vests to avoid further confusion.
