A rare one-horned rhinoceros has been captured and returned to an Indian wildlife park two weeks after it escaped.

The 1.2 ton adult male is one of two rhinoceros which were recently transferred to Assam state's Manas National Park after its rhino population was wiped out by poachers.

More than 100 wildlife officials had tracked the animal using its radio collar since it strayed from the park but could not tranquillise in the marshy areas it was in because it might have drowned.
