A council has apologised after sending a £440 gravestone bill to a man who died more than a decade ago.
Married couple Ross and Jennifer Williams received a letter from Worcester County Council addressed to Mrs Williams’ late father, George Weaver, asking if he wanted to extend the lease on his memorial plaque at Astwood Cemetery.
Mr Weaver died in May 1998 and was buried alongside his wife in the Tintern Avenue cemetery.
