The millionth word or phrase in the English language has been named as “Web 2.0” - but experts disputed whether the term really justified that title.
The phrase was placed at the 1,000,000 mark by the Global Language Monitor, a Texas-based internet company tracking how words are used.
GLM had shortlisted 15 words to fulfil its calculation that English would cross the 1,000,000 word threshold on June 10 2009, at 10.22am GMT.
