Sculpture of nude man removed from outside arts centre following complaints from clergy and the public

A sculpture of a nude man has been removed from outside an arts centre in Michigan following complaints from clergy and the public.

The mayor of Mount Clemens, Barb Dempsey, said: “I had grandparents call me saying ’I’m not coming down here to bring my grandchildren if that’s up there because I don’t want to have to explain that’.”

The anatomically correct statue was moved inside the Anton Art Centre.
