Police scrapped a fixed penalty notice handed to a charity cyclist who had strayed on to a motorway shortly after crossing the border into Scotland.
Jamie Barton was fined £60 and got three points on his driving licence after being pulled over by police on the northbound section of the A74(M) near Gretna on Sunday.
The 34-year-old from Essex, who was making his way from Land’s End to John O’Groats, was fined despite not driving a vehicle.
