History buff accidentally fires cannonball through neighbour's window

A US history buff was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after firing a cannonball through a neighbour’s window.

William Maser recreates firearms from old wars and  accidentally fired a 2lb cannonball through the wall of his neighbour’s home.

The cannonball, about 2in in diameter, smashed through a window and a wall before landing in a wardrobe.

He said he was sorry and has vowed to stop shooting cannons on his property, about 35 miles south-east of Pittsburgh.
