A struggling golfer won a £23,000 Jaguar with a hole-in-one and lost his status as an amateur as a result, it emerged.
John McGee, a 28-handicapper, scored an ace in a charity event at the new Rockliffe Hall golf club owned by millionaire soccer boss Steve Gibson, near Darlington.
The peerless shot came on the 200-yard par-three 15th hole in the event in aid of the Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Teesside.
