A Texas man got a 30-day jail sentence for contempt of court after criticising a judge in the courthouse toilet.
State District Judge Jack Robison ordered 69-year-old Don Bandelman released after two days in jail after a state appeals court in Austin made inquiries into the matter. Judge Robison had granted temporary custody of Bandelman’s 13-year-old granddaughter to his son’s ex-wife on June 23.
Bandelman followed Judge Robison into the men’s toilet at the Caldwell County Courthouse and berated him as “a fool”. Judge Robison ordered Bandelman’s arrest. Bandelman says he’ll complain to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
