A man ended up buying back his own stolen property after it was sold on to an elderly couple.
Simon Grey, of Leicester, found out where his missing television was but said police told him they could not do anything to get it back for him. He paid £350 to an elderly couple who had unwittingly bought it.
Leicestershire police said that despite a man admitting burglary, officers did not have enough information to obtain a search warrant to return the property.
