OOH X Factor. What is going on with the show this year? If it’s not accusations of diva behaviour from the contestants backstage (where have we heard that one before?), it’s the judges laying into each other on stage.
This week it was all about “fag-ash gate” after Gary Barlow let his gentleman guise slip and made that comment to Tulisa.
Tulisa gave as good as she got and I know Gary apologised afterwards but it is safe to say that things have reached a new low in this series and I’m not just talking about the ratings.
Sadly, in among this childish panto, I fear the real point of this year’s show is in danger of being lost.
And that is to marvel at just how beautiful Nicole Scherzinger is.
Because, whether you have any interest in her particular brand of saccharine sweet pop or not, there is no getting away from the fact she is one of the hottest women on the planet.
She is also, going by her behaviour on X Factor – her Marilyn-esque Happy Birthday serenade for Rylan, creating her own vocabulary (“Jah-mazing!”) or talking about the size of contestant’s nether regions – occasionally mad as a box of frogs.
Better than being boring though and the girl sure knows how to dress.
Ever since Sharon Osbourne was replaced by Dannii Minogue, the female judges’ fashion-off has been as much a part of the show as the sob stories and I think it is safe to say Nicole is trouncing Tulisa.
Then again it’s not difficult. Who is dressing the girls’ mentor – an 11-year-old? I am delighted she has gone back to brunette but, Sunday night’s Ariella Couture gown aside, her outfits look so cheap I only hope she is careful with the cigarette lighter.
Nicole on the other hand seems to have the pick of top designers and is making her choices wisely – or at least X Factor stylist Laury Smith is.
Julien Macdonald, Alexander McQueen, Kristian Aadnevik and Nicolas Kirkwood are just some of the couturiers she seems to have on speed dial.
This week Nicole looked stunning on the red carpets for both the Pride of Britain Awards inset and Cosmopolitan’s Ultimate Women Awards left.
Nicole puts her beauty down to getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water (?!). But I reckon the Polynesian roots help (she was born in Honolulu), if you will pardon the Pussycat Doll pun, that cocoa skin and those glossy locks are just purrfect.
Don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like her indeed!
With at least another seven weeks of X Factr craziness to come I am looking forward to what other style treats Nic has in store for us.
That said, if Rylan goes ahead and wins X Factor, we should banish her from these shores forever...
IN other news this week snaps of Nicole Kidman on the set of the Grace Kelly biopic – Grace of Monaco – have been circulating.
As pretty as the Australian actress looks in the shots, captured on location in the principality I can’t help but wonder was Gwyneth Paltrow busy when the film was being cast...
