Well, you’d have needed the eyesight of one to see what on earth was going on after the massive power cut that knocked out half of the floodlights.
Maybe it was Beyonce’s fault, her blistering half-time show appearing to soak up the energy of not just the Big Easy but neighbouring states. (But not, it would seem, enough to power the microphones of her two former Destiny’s Child colleagues, whose weak performances somewhat conveniently appeared to put the final nail in the coffin of that revival).
Anyway, once they had found a penny – well, dime – for the meter, Baltimore Ravens successfully managed to fend off a stirring San Francisco 49ers comeback to clinch their second Superbowl triumph in a game lit up by two incredible touchdowns from Jacoby Jones. Yes, that really is his first name.
