Everton’s last five visits to Boundary Park

Sep 1993 Oldham 0 Everton 1 (Premier League)

Everton ended a run of three straight defeats with a gritty victory at Boundary Park. Tony Cottee netted the only goal shortly after the half-hour as Howard Kendall’s men warmed up for the following weekend’s Goodison derby in morale-boosting fashion.

Oct 1992 Oldham 1 Everton 0 (Premier League)

Everton’s first Premier League game to be broadcast live on Sky Sports resulted in a disappointing defeat. Richard Jobson scored the only goal after just eight minutes to send Howard Kendall’s side tumbling to a fourth successive defeat in all competitions.

Dec 1991 Oldham 2 Everton 2 (Division One)

An entertaining encounter saw the visitors twice come from behind to earn a point. Roger Palmer gave the hosts the lead before Kevin Sheedy equalised, and future Everton midfielder Mike Milligan restored the Oldham advantage until Pat Nevin levelled 19 minutes from time.

Mar 1990 Oldham 2 Everton 1 (FA Cup fifth round second replay)

Not a great afternoon for the Goodison outfit, who were controversially dumped out of the competition. Palmer appeared to foul Neville Southall as he equalised Cottee’s opener before former Everton striker Ian Marshall netted the winner from the spot in extra time.

Feb 1990 Oldham 2 Everton 2 (FA Cup fifth round)

Oldham were remarkably challenging for glory on three fronts after reaching the League Cup final and aiming for promotion to the top flight. Graeme Sharp and Cottee put Everton in control but an Andy Ritchie penalty and Palmer’s effort earned a Goodison replay, which ended 1-1.
