Chester looking to continue September success in October

CHESTER City will be aiming to start October in the same fashion that they performed last month.
City were unbeaten in September and a five-game spell without a defeat has seen the club rise to a mid-table placing in Coca-Cola League Two.
Lincoln City, who are managed by former Chester City favourite Peter Jackson, provide the opposition for today’s clash at the Deva Stadium.
City manager Simon Davies is looking for his side to continue their impressive current run.
He said: “We have had two months of the season now. August was terrible, September was very good, but we have to put them to bed now and crack on.
“The main thing is the attitude and the confidence of the players.
“The attitude when it wasn’t going so well was good because they kept at it and kept working hard and anything we asked of them they did.”
Davies added: “Any afternoon training sessions or prolonged sessions that were given to them they never moaned about. They got on with it, even though it is tough when you are working hard and not getting the results.
“As soon as it turned around and we beat Barnet, it was still hard, but it is easier when you are winning and we just need to maintain the run that we are currently on.
“The mood in the camp is extremely up-beat at the moment and everybody is playing their part in the successful spell we are having.
“The Shrewsbury and Luton games were good points, but we now must make the most of playing Lincoln at home. If we can get three points, we can then look back at the last three games and think that was good going.”
Chester will be without young defender Kevin Roberts this afternoon.
He’s serving a one-match suspension after being dismissed at Luton last weekend, but Lawrence Wilson returns following injury.
