Chester squander lead at Salisbury

CHESTER City conceded a late goal at Salisbury last night after taking the lead with a well-struck effort from Ben Wilkinson.

Nick Chadwick brought out an excellent save from home keeper James Bittner, then a long range effort from Adam Kay went inches wide of the home side’s upright.

Chester broke the deadlock 11 minutes from time via ex-York midfield player Ben Wilkinson.

Excellent work by Blundell set Wilkinson up, who fired low from 15 yards past Bittner.

City couldn’t hold onto the lead, and in rather bizarre circumstances the home side registered their equaliser.

Danby dropped the ball, and Sean Clohefsy had a simple job to knock the ball into the unguarded net.

Danby appeared to suffer a knee injury, and he was replaced by substitute keeper Murphy.
