Chester owners to attend meeting

DIRECTORS and the owners (the Vaughan Family) of troubled Chester City Football Club are expected to attend an EGM of the Football Conference in Birmingham today where the current issues surrounding the Deva Stadium outfit will be discussed.

The club could be liquidated if an outstanding amount to HM Revenue and Customs isn’t forthcoming, while staff salaries and other invoices are still unpaid.

Chester’s managing director Bob Gray said: “The people behind the scenes are working hard to make sure that the football club continues to play football. We have got between now and the 27th January to pay the amount that is owed.”

Nick Chadwick had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
