SO wet was the weather on Sunday that Widnes were the only club to reach the quarter-finals of the Cheshire Cricket Knock-out Cup.
All other ties were put back to next Sunday with an instruction from organiser Ian Greensmith that they must reach a finish, either by a bowl out or the toss of the coin.
Widnes recorded an impressive 81-run victory over Didsbury at Beaconsfield Road, scoring 157-8 (Tony Hurdley 51, Ian Spencer 35) before dismissing the south Manchester side for 76, Damien Moore taking 4-27 and Sean Moore 3-11.
Widnes will be at home in the quarter-finals on the revised date of Sunday, July 22 against the winners of the Urmston v Oxton tie, which goes on next Sunday.
Other fixtures scheduled are: Burnage v Poynton, Chester Boughton Hall v Nantwich, Wallasey v New Brighton, Oulton Park v Sale, Timperley v Toft, Macclesfield v Neston.
