Swimming: Prenton Prep youngsters make big splash at Wirral Swimming Gala

PUPILS at Prenton Preparatory have been making waves having scooped the regions swimming crown.
The youngsters starred at the recent Wirral Schools Gala Swimming Finals at the Europa Pools in Birkenhead.
Twelve Wirral schools took part, having qualified in first or second place from their area Galas, including Great Meols, Higher Bebington, Liscard, Prenton Preparatory, Our Lady, Overchurch, Raeburn, Redcourts, St. Bridget’s, St George’s, St Joseph’s and Woodfall schools.
Year five and six pupils participated in individual backstroke, breastroke and freestyle races plus team relays. It was a very close-fought contest with all competitors swimming with good skill and technique.
The result was still in the balance when it came to the final race, but in the end Prenton came out as champions.
