Cycling: Time-trial win for Longland

GLEN LONGLAND, Antelope RT, won the Warrington Road Club 50-mile time-trial.

He completed the J4/16 course at Goostrey in 1 hour 56 minutes 48 seconds. Southport CC’s Dave Hilton was second in 1.57.52 and Peter Greenwood, Clayton Velo, was third with 1.58.37.

The organising club won the three-man team prize with Nick Giles (1.59.59) in seventh, Trevor Horton (2.00.48) in eighth and Steve Hargreaves (2.02.48) who was 10th.

Felicity Hart, Sleaford Wheelers was the fastest lady in 2.09.08.

Phoenix CC (Aintree) rider Terry Phillips did an actual 2.10.12 to take the handicap prize with a handicap time of 1.38.27.

Karl Freeman, Team Corley Cycles, won the Liverpool Century RC Road Race at Pimbo. He completed the 90km event for elite, first and second category riders in 2 hours 10 minutes 34 seconds. Martin Smith, Aw Cycles, was second and Rob Pugh, of the organising club, third.
