Sailing: Win due to Tango

SAILING: Liverpool Yacht Club crews enjoyed an excellent Offshore Trophy Race over a 50 miles Liverpool Bay course.

After rounding the Bar Buoy the yachts had an 18-mile spinnaker run to the finish and Richard Baldwin lifted the trophy in his Superseal Tango, ahead of David Hardy in Hocus Pocus and Catch 32 (John Myerscough).

Hoylake Sailing Club’s Thwaites Trophy race went to Steve Stratton in Fidelio in a close finish with Orchid (Phil Roberts) and Aida (Geoff Watt).
