Cycling: Gilham triumphs

CYCLING: Kit Gilham, Clifton CC won the 121km road race at Bashall Eaves, organised by Clayton Velo RC.

He crossed the line of the event held for Elite, 1st and 2nd category riders in 2 hours 42 minutes 35 seconds. James Williamson, Wills Wheels CC was second at 7 seconds. Pete Williams, Kinesis UK was third at 18 seconds and gained 8 points in the Liverpool Echo Star Trophy senior competition, which he won last year. He now tops this year’s table by just one point. The next and last qualifying event is on September 23 at Treales course.
