Liverpool youngsters net rare double

LIVERPOOL youngsters are celebrating after netting a rare sporting double.

Girls at Belvedere Academy are cock-a-hoop after recently landing the Under-15s Liverpool Teachers’ Association Tournament title.

A feat made all the more special after they scooped the 2008 Liverpool Schools’ Netball League title too.

Under the captaincy of Stephanie Payne the girls captured the Liverpool Teachers’ Association Tournament at St. Julie’s beating St Edwards College in the final. They then rounded off a fine season throughout the autumn and spring terms by finishing top of the Liverpool League before winning the play-offs to secure a rare league and cup double.

The U15s are no strangers to success as they won both these championships as U12s in 2005.
