Trophy challenge

SAILING: Dinghy action will be fast and furious on West Kirby Lake this weekend when West Kirby Sailing Club stage their annual Wilson Team Racing Trophy Meeting.

There will be 32 teams taking part in Firefly dinghies, including top contestants from the home country and a number of foreign contenders. There will be a round-robin contest followed by a knock-out event involving the top eight qualifiers to decide the title.

West Kirby will have three teams in the line-up, with five from America and also teams from Canada and Ireland.

Racing starts around 8am tomorrow and the final stages during late afternoon on Sunday.
