CYCLING: The Tour of Blackpool on the July 20 is the next qualifying event in the Liverpool Echo Star Trophy senior competition.

The Lune RCC 90km race scheduled for July 6 will now take place on Sunday, August 17.

Preston CC’s Robin Brennan won the Prescot Eagle RC open 10-mile time trial. He finished the D10/1 Rainford course in 21 minutes 43 seconds. Peter Ware, St Helens CRC, was second with 21.49.
