Ellison triumphs

CYCLING: Ashurst BC’s Phil Ellison was the star of the inter-club events last week. In good conditions he won the 25-mile time-trial at Bickerstaffe in 56 minutes, six seconds.
S Belshaw, Felt Racing, was second with 57.24 and Arthur Winstanley, Phoenix CC (Aintree), produced a personal best of 58.30 for third. Ellison also triumphed in the 10-mile time trial at Rainford with a PB of 22. 02. Danny Burrows, Cheltenham & County, was next with 22.29 and Ashurst’s Marc Laithwaite third in 23.20.
