Brighton curse at Kersal

NEW BRIGHTON looked back at another missed winning opportunity in North Two West at Altrincham Kersal at the weekend.

It finished 16-16 but chances to post a second success of the season were not taken.

“I am happy with the way we are improving week after week but I am disappointed we did not win the game,” said head coach Steve Dorrington.

The Blues coaching staff are still worried about conceding two many penalties and this was being addressed during the week.

Brighton have a cup tie on Saturday at home to Hull in the EDF Energy Trophy for which a past players reunion has been arranged. Hull play a league above in North One and lost for the first time last Saturday.

Josh Bates, Jez Lamb and Mike Gallimore are all working their way back to fitness. Chris Dale is due to complete a short ban and Ben Lazenby, Dan Stafford and Martin Canham come into the frame.

NEXT GAME: New Brighton v Hull, EDF Energy Cup, October 18.
