WEST PARK’S coach Chris Chudleigh was no doubt left frustrated for the third weekend running after seeing his side once again let opportunities slip away.
Morley did arrive at Red Rocks as clear favourites after winning all their early season encounters and only losing their unbeaten North One run narrowly to Birkenhead Park the week before.
The Merseysiders clearly refused to be overwhelmed by their Yorkshire rivals, especially in the early exchanges, and remained locked at 0-0 at the break before stand-off Rob Hitchmough provided inspiration with a superb drop goal that gave them the lead.
Park subsequently conceded two tries with the second so unfortunate after a sustained period of attack by the home side had faded.
Morley eventually cosed out for a 14-6 victory.
This coming weekend Park have respite from the league and credited with a bye in the EDF Competition have time to regroup.
Judging by last Saturday’s performance the team is certainly showing improvement by the minute, especially in their defensive work.
However, they still lack enough bite in attack despite the drive provided by Springbok scrum-half Ryan de la Harpe.
Injuries and sickness have not made selection easy and the time without a game should provide for Chudleigh to take stock ready for their next North One encounter at Red Rocks on Saturday, October 25.
NEXT GAME: West Park v Westoe, North One, October 25
