Sefton edge neighbours

SEFTON edged home 15-13 against Anselmians in a cross-river derby.

Matt Thomas and Steve Hughes touched down with Dave Almond adding a conversion and a penalty.

Warrington came away 24-12 to the good from Wallasey who managed tries via Ben O’Donnell and Steve Guest who goalled once.

St Edwards gained a welcome 19-10 win at Prenton in Division Three. Luke Naylor and Sean Currie crossed.

Oldershaw enjoyed a 58-0 romp at home to Knutsford. Rich Lappin made his mark with three tries. Mark Wilson, John Roberts and Mark Hallam each crossed twice.

West Park Warriors got home 27-25 in a Division Four thriller against Parkonians who achieved touch-downs through Terry Williams (2), Alex Williams and Liam Evans.

The defection of Aspull from Division One means that one side is missing out on a game each week. Wirral were idle last weekend but return to action against Bowdon on Saturday when there is another full league programme apart from Division Four in which there are no fixtures.
