SKIPPER Kati Tuipulotu played a big part in a much-needed North Two West League victory for New Brighton.
Several times the Blues looked as if they would run away with matters, but Northwich kept coming back.
But New Brighton dug deep and scored a vital try by Lotu Neuneutau, converted by Stephen Dean, in the last minute of ordinary time.
Forward drives brought two early tries for Tuipulotu. The visitors hit back with a Matt Bebbington penalty and a Chris Heywood touch down before a Dean penalty made it 13-8 at the break.
Tuipulotu completed his hat-trick soon after the re-start and Neunautau crossed after more good forward work. At 23-8 it looked over but Northwich rallied through Chris James and Simon Pratt tries plus a Bebbington goal.
Dean’s penalty made it 26-20 but Joel Barber crossed with Bebbington converting to hand the visitors the lead.
Dean landed a penalty three minutes later and made sure of their second win with the late Neuneutau score.
