West Park stay rooted

WEST PARK’S coach Chris Chudleigh returned from Darlington furious following his team’s weak performance against a side that similarly lacked any ‘sparkle’.

He said: “It is not rude to say that Darlington were poor. I could even venture to say that when we actually played we looked streets ahead of them in terms of rugby ability and class. Unfortunately they played the conditions better and they controlled territory for much of the game.”

West Park’s inability to seize their chances now means that they are firmly bottom of the North One. Nevertheles there is still some optimism that Park’s first win may just be round the corner and there could be no better time to spring a surprise than this Saturday when Cleckheaton are the visitors.

The Yorkshire outfit are midtable with three wins to their credit.

The task for the Merseysiders is a challenging one but the team is still determined to repay their loyal fans.
