EIGHT West Cheshire AC youngsters have received county call-ups.
The Chester and Ellesmere Port-based club juniors will represent Cheshire at the Aviva North West U11s Indoor Fun In Sportshall Athletics Meeting, at Sports City, Manchester, on Sunday, November 23.
Amy Williams, Olivia Williams, Georgia Barlow, Charlotte Williamson, James McMahon, Matthew Pagan, Daniel Vickers, and Elijah Montez-Brown will travel to the event.
All eight have impressed for West Cheshire AC’s under 11 squads so far this season in the North West Sportshall League.
West Cheshire’s under 11 girls currently lead their North West Sportshall League Competition after two rounds, and the under 11 boys squad are currently fourth after their two rounds.
Meanwhile, West Cheshire AC has won the Ellesmere Port and Neston Sports Club of the Year Award and will go forward to represent the county at the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Awards, to be held at The Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, Warrington, on Friday, November 28.
Athletics coaches and athletes are being invited to attend Combined Events and Pole Vault Development Squad sessions being held by England Athletics North West, at Sports City, Manchester.
The Combined Events sessions start on Sunday, November 16, between 10am and 3pm, and the cost is £3. Further details from Roger Devlin on 0161 962 8973.
WEEKEND FIXTURES: The first round of the Liverpool and District Cross Country League for junior, senior and veteran men, and senior ladies, on Saturday, at Beacon Park, Dalton, (3pm start).
And the second round of the Borders Road Running League takes place at Hoylake, on Sunday (11am start).
