Athletics: Hot Kettle can’t help struggling West Cheshire

WEST CHESHIRE AC’s struggling start to the Borders Road Running League continued at Hoylake in the second round.

The Chester and Ellesmere Port-based club is propping up both men’s and ladies’ league tables after a miserable opening to the seven-round campaign.

Jeff Kettle was West Cheshire’s first man home, covering the 9.6km course in a time of 35 minutes 15 seconds for 27th position.

Andrew Clague provided back-up with a time of 35:55 to merit 40th position ahead of Dave Tiernan (59th).
