Batting improves but now injuries demolish England cricket team

"We’ve just got to keep doing what we do. The guys are together, there is no split in the dressing room and that’s one of the positives. We’ve just got to keep going."

Prolific India spinner Harbhajan Singh admitted India had set their sights on winning the series 7-0 – and claimed England handed them the game by only scoring 74 runs in their last 10 overs.

"It would be nice for us to win the series 7-0 but you can’t predict results," he said. "The kind of cricket we’re playing I’m sure we’re capable of winning 7-0.

"They had a great start and we all thought they would get 300-plus runs but I think Kevin Pietersen was a bit nervous in the 90s. and took a bit of time getting to his hundred.

"They only got 74 runs in the last 10 overs and they had six wickets in hand."

* THE England cricket team were last night taking advice from the Foreign Office after a terrorist attack at the hotel where they will be based in three weeks’ time.

Dozens are feared dead after gunmen attacked at least seven luxury hotels in India, including The Taj Mahal Palace, which was home to the team when they visited Mumbai around two weeks ago.

They were also planning to use the hotel on their return to the city for the team’s second Test Match against India, which is scheduled to start on December 19.

And Middlesex captain Shaun Udal has revealed the team will not be travelling to India as planned following the terror attacks in Mumbai today.

They were due to fly out today for the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League – but Udal understands the tournament will go ahead but with the Mumbai matches moved to Bangalore.
