Wedding prevents Tongan playing

WEDDING bells have cost New Brighton the services of prop forward Lotu Neuneutau.

Neuneutau returned home to Tonga at the weekend to get married.

Meanwhile, the Blues are reflecting on another poor away performance last weekend when they were beaten 23-0 at Rossendale.

“It seems we are good at home and not so impressive away,” said head coach Steve Dorrington. “Six or seven players did well at Rossendale. It was the opposite for the others and you cannot carry that many passengers in a side.”

The Fijians from the Army who had been helping out at Hartsfield have now left, leaving just skipper Kati Tuipulotu and relative Ikuna Manuofetoa.

The Blues have certainly not given up on a top two finish although they have a mountain to climb from third bottom.

It is imperative they beat visiting Sandbach on Saturday. “We have a game plan and I am confident it will work”, said Dorrington.

After Saturday Brighton will prepare for the Lees Cheshire Cup semi-final derby on December 13 at Birkenhead Park, who are the cup holders.

NEXT GAME: New Brighton v Sandbach, North Two West, Dec 6 (2.15pm)
