LANCASHIRE have confirmed they have secured £10million of funding from NatWest for the first phase of their Old Trafford re-development.

Phase one of the proposed £200million regeneration scheme for the ground and surrounding areas is to focus on a £12million, 1,000-seat conference and events centre.

Lancashire’s finance and operations director Lee Morgan said: “The driving force behind our redevelopment plans is to secure the future of international cricket in the region.

“However, the conference and events element of our day-to-day operation is an important part of our successful business strategy, and is core to funding of the club’s cricketing activities.

“NatWest have had a long association with English cricket, particularly at grassroots level, and we are delighted that they share our vision of creating a world-class cricket venue here at Old Trafford.”
