West Park lose their way against Middlesborough

IN an ill-disciplined game West Park finally lost their way after showing so much early promise.

The Merseysiders, with Rob Hitchmough in eye-catching form, led by 12 points in the first quarter.

Prop Adam Glover had triggered their early success powering over for the first try wide out.

Minutes later Hitchmough darted under the posts for a converted try to increase the lead.

But Boro winger Gordon Bland replied before stand off Simon O’Farrell brought the scores level.

Then with just four minutes to go before the break Park’s wheels began to come off. Adam Glover was red carded after a huge confrontation.

Park’s troubles multiplied as skipper for the day lock Rob Hanson was shown another red.

Replacement prop John Reed also went off injured.

Inevitably despite Park showing a lot of spirit and Charlie Baleirara scored a late try as Boro grabbed two more tries.
