Wakefield's Leon Walker
Victory for the fifth-placed Wildcats would enable them to draw level with Saints while Leeds and Huddersfield – two of the other teams above them in the table – are also in Super Leagueaction tonight.
Teenager Jonny Lomax will make his St Helens debut at full- back in place of the injured Paul Wellens with another 19-year-old, Gary Wheeler, switching to scrum-half in the absence of Sean Long and Francis Meli taking over on the wing for his first match of the season.
Saints also have prop Tony Puletua back from injury and hope that England front-rower Maurie Fa’asavalu recovers in time from the knock he took to his face in last Friday’s 26-18 win over Leeds.

The Rhinos are aiming to bounce back from their first defeat of the season at the hands of St Helens when they take on struggling Catalans Dragons at Headingley.
The Dragons, with just one win from their opening six matches, have conceded 148 points on their three previous visits to Headingley but they have experienced forwards Dane Carlaw and Jason Croker returning from injury to help their cause.
"Catalans have had a tough start to the season but they have been close to wins in their last four games and demonstrated that they still possess the qualities they showed last season when they beat Warrington away earlier this year," said Leeds coach Brian McClennan.
"They were not that far off last week against Bradford and they probably consider themselves unlucky not to have got a win out in that game.
"We know this is another challenge for us and the competition so far this year has shown that any team is capable of knocking any other off on any given day."
Huddersfield take a full-strength squad to Wigan as they look to extend their remarkable away record to eight straight wins going back to July when they pulled off a 34-4 triumph at the JJB Stadium.
Winger Martin Aspinwall is hoping to get the nod to make his return from a torn calf and join an ex-Wigan team-mates Luke Robinson, Kevin Brown, David Hodgson and Stephen Wild in the Giants line-up.
"In all my time I’ve never seen so many players play for one club and move to another," said Giants’ new Australian coach Nathan Brown. "It’s quite strange for me."
One face familiar to Brown will be former St George Illawarra hooker Mark "Piggy" Riddell, whom he coached for two seasons before the player moved on to Parramatta.
"He’s a good lad is Pig," said Brown. "He will fit in anywhere, he’s a good character. The home crowds like him and the away crowds dislike him.
"He’s quite a dangerous player so hopefully he’ll have an off day this week."
