Oldershaw in Cheshire Plate final

OLDERSHAW will feature in the final of the Cheshire Plate on Saturday with Ashton-on-Mersey providing the opposition at Winnington Park (1.30pm).

It has been a much improved season for the Belvidere outfit after a period in the doldrums. They beat Mossley Hill 52-3 in their latest South Lancashire/Cheshire Three match and will take the title provided they win their final game. They are also in the final of the Wirral Floodlit Cup.

Leigh returned to winning ways in North Two West with a 22-10 victory against Blackburn and lie fifth in the table.

There were mixed fortunes for Wirral and Hoylake in South Lancashire/Cheshire One.

Wirral crushed Widnes 45-17 with Craig Harvey (2), Alistair Baker, Rob Pearl and Dan Harvey amongst the try scorers.

Hoylake had to settle for a try and conversion from Steve Young in a 26-7 reverse at the hands of Sale.

Anselmians set themselves up to take the Division Two title with an 18-11 away success against closest rivals Warrington.

Wallasey finished 29-29 against Ruskin Park whilst Sefton came away 14-10 winners from Trentham.

Prenton beat Moore 24-2 in Division Three.

St Edwards edged home 24-23 against Eagle. Simon Cullen, Mike Gow and Chris Milnes crossed with Tony Evans successful with four goals.
