Ex-Wales star Moore joins Waterloo

WATERLOO have appointed former Wales international Steve Moore as their new director of rugby.

The 36-year-old ex-Swansea lock has accepted the challenge of trying to turn the Merseyside club around following last season’s relegation from National Two.

Moore, who lives in Southport, believes he is joining Loo at an exciting time in their history.

Last month they launched www.mywaterloorugby.com – the world’s first ‘fantasy rugby’ website where online managers make decisions about the real team.

“I truly believe that it is an honour to take the position of director of rugby at Waterloo – a historic club with great kudos in the rugby world,” he said. “While they may have fallen on hard times, this is our chance to get them back to where they belong.

“I can’t wait for the season to start so I can really get stuck in.

“Enthusiasm, passion and a desire to succeed are the attributes that inspired me to achieve my ultimate sporting ambition of playing for Wales and it is clear that the Waterloo directors share these attributes.

“I look forward to drawing on all of my 16 years of experience.

“I hope to attract some new and possibly old faces to the club.

“It promises to be a very interesting season.”
