Whitefield face tough task against Parkfield Liscard in Merseyside and Southport Alliance

BROMBOROUGH Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance leaders Whitefield face a tricky match at Parkfield Liscard tomorrow as the season reaches the half way stage.

Wavertree, who look the biggest threat to Whitefield in their quest for a quick return to the Liverpool Competition, appear to have a winning chance at home to Maritime. The Sandown Lane side has recently gained the services of left-arm spinner Neil Clarkson from Wallasey.

Wavertree should have faced a double bill this weekend with quarter final matches due in the David Kaufman Memorial Trophy on Sunday but they have a bye to the last four. They were scheduled to meet the winners of the Huyton v Caldy clash but both these clubs have been thrown out of the competition.
