WIDNES will be looking to maintain their great start to the new season when they travel to the Memorial Ground to face Wirral in what looks like being the game of the day in South Lancs Cheshire One.
It will be a tough challenge for the side coached by Lee McDermott as Widnes haven’t had the best of luck on their travels there in recent encounters.
But, with wing Kevin Leadbetter on top form – he scored 25 points in last weekend’s win over Oswestry – and the Riley brothers Gareth and Andrew, both scoring five-pointers for fun, Widnes can be excused for thinking that they have a really great chance in this game.
The match kicks-off at 3pm.
