Caldy pay the penalty in loss to Huddersfield

CALDY were reminded that they are not invincible last weekend when they lost at home to a strong Huddersfield side 32-17.

With only three tries scored in the contest, the high score reflects just how significant the penalty count was with 30 out of the 49 points being kicked through the posts.

Director of rugby, Matt Holt, said: “I was very disappointed with Saturday’s game, as were the boys. It was an unimpressive performance, we simply didn’t turn up to the game.”

On Saturday the first XV travel to Harrogate who are currently leading the way at the top of the table and have previously proven to be a tough team to beat away from home.

Caldy’s second XV entertain Manchester on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and will be looking to keep their fine form going after their impressive win at Birkenhead Park last weekend.
